SPEAKING OUTWARDS, TOGETHER
We support unified initiatives that do this, and uphold the values and mana of the Church in our relationship with civic leaders and community groups. We aim to be a positive, constructive voice, sharing stories of the excellent work that God's Church is doing across Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
MT VICTORIA CROSS
The cross on Mt Victoria is lit up over Wellington for the period of Lent prior to Easter & the period of Advent prior to Christmas. The cross is maintained by the CWC team and with financial support from various individuals and churches. Upgrades to both sides of the cross have recently been completed, installing LED lights to make the cross brighter and less vulnerable to the weather.
CAROLS AT
PARLIAMENT
Carols in Parliament is held in December each year and is hosted by a Christian MP. The Carols service is attended by foreign ambassadors, city councillors, local dignitaries, school groups, and many local Christian believers.
Carols in Parliament is organized by the CWC team and is a wonderful occasion of Christian unity, proclaiming the gospel message of the coming of Jesus Christ into our world, and His ongoing Presence in our city and nation.
